PAUL – Georgene (Gene) Rogers passed away peacefully on April 7, 2013. Gene, the daughter of George and Eva Bryant, was born June 27, 1926 in Strong City, Oklahoma. Gene was a precocious child and never found anything she couldn’t do once she set her mind to it. She married the love of her life Dale Rogers on September 27, 1944 in Mountain Grove, Missouri and a year later they moved to Idaho and spent most of their time in the Magic Valley.

Gene was a wonderful cook, spending many years cooking for the sheep camps, the Ponderosa Inn and Burley Inn. She was noted for her fresh baked bread and pies. She loved to dance, fish, crochet, read, play dominoes and cards. Family and friends treasure her beautiful crochet work. Gene had a dynamic personality and made friends easily and was loved by all.

Gene had a quick wit and a strong arm allowing her to raise three rowdy boys with ease. She is survived by: her sons George (Charlene); Kenneth (Geri); Richard (Cindy); 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and her sister LaVerna Coots. Her family was the center of her life and they all loved her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dale and brother’s Ray Bryant, Howard Bryant and Forest Bryant and grandson Rich Caldwell.

Gene’s final act of service was to donate her body to science for educational purposes. There will be a celebration of her life the last week of June in Paul, Idaho for family and friends.

The family wishes to thank Highland Estates and Intermountain Home Care for their care and support. Arrangements have been under the direction of Joel Heward at Hansen Mortuary.
